Several tornadoes were reported or suspected across western Kansas. A tornado moved northward, touching down 6 miles north-northwest of Downs at 600 pm and ending 2 miles northwest of Lebanon. This tornado covered 18 miles. At a farm 10 NNW of Downs, the house was damaged and all outbuildings blown away. A tornado was reported 14 miles west of Friend. Tornado southwest of Osborne at 545 pm. A tornado moves over open country 15 miles northwest of Scott City at 210 pm. A tornado hit the east side of Goodland at 312 pm MST. A wall at the Votech school was blown down. There was extensive damage to school and several homes. A suspected tornado hit around Scott City at 5 pm. A tornado in Rooks county near Plainville seen by many. Extensive damage was done to 20 unoccupied mobile homes with damage $250K. This occurred at 510 pm. In Hays a man suffered cuts and abrasions when his mobile home was blown over. A possible tornado hit Great bend at 230 pm. In Bogue a grain elevator was toppled and flung across a railroad track. A tornado moved north-northeast for a few miles from 6 miles north of Coldwater. Two mobile homes were damaged in Herrington. High which which may have been a tornado affected Collyer around 320 pm.
