A storm developed near Boulder and moved nne to ne to near Fort Collins to east of Cheyenne. This storm produced either 1 tornado or several tornadoes from 7 miles northwest of Nunn to near Rockport to 7 miles east-southeast of Cheyenne. According to the Greeley Reporter, there were reports of damage to farm buildings along the path on a dozen farms. At the Earl Jacobson residence, violent winds destroyed several sheds granaries and outbuildings. At the Allen de Porter ranch near Rockport, a pickup was lifted and slammed into another vehicle. At the Mavix ranch 6 miles east and 1 mile south of Cheyenne there was extensive damage to outbuildings. The time of this tornado was probably from 1110 pm to 1215 am. Golfball sized hail was reported near Cheyenne around 1215 am. This time may not be exact. This probably fell with the supercell storm that produced the tornadoes. If this storm had occurred in a populated area, the damage would have been much more extensive. This is a very rural area, especially in 1965. The rain changed to snow in Cheynne a few minutes after the storm passed to the east. Temperatures were in the mid 30s in Cheyenne when the storm hit. Thundersnow was reported in Laramie when the tornado was in progress.
