Heavy snow of six to 12 inches snapped trees, power lines, and caused extensive damage to immature crops. Snow amounts included McDonald 12 inches, Herndon and 8 NW St. Francis 10 inches, Dresden, Goodland, Rexford, and Oakley six inches. The snowfall was the heaviest on record for September and for so early in the season at Goodland.
